FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2023 logo revealed featuring the Waratah flower

SYDNEY (Australia) - The official logo for the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2023 was revealed today, marking a key milestone in the build-up towards the flagship event in women's basketball.

"The beautiful logo references the waratah flower, the state emblem of New South Wales where the event will be held, and the iconic Southern Cross which is synonymous with Australian skies," stated Basketball Australia (BA).

"The rich, beautiful colors represent all of our neighbors who we are excited to warmly welcome to our country."

“The logo reveal is an exciting and important milestone on the road to this year’s Women’s Asia Cup that will take place for the very first-time in Australia”, added FIBA Executive Director - Asia, Mr. Hagop Khajirian.

The FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2023 is the region’s flagship women’s national team competition and for the first-time ever will take place in Australia. The Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre will be the home for the event from 26 June to 2 July, and will see the best players from across the region compete on Australian soil.

The Women’s Asia Cup in Sydney comes a year after Australia successfully hosted the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2022, which drew record crowds in attendance, broadcast, and digital. Basketball fans will have the chance to witness a potential rematch between Australia and China, who faced off in the Women’s World Cup Semi-Finals matchup that drew nearly 12,000 fans to the Sydney Superdome.
