Gilas Pilipinas Crushes Singapore, Clinch SEA Games Semis Berth
Gilas Pilipinas are semis-bound, thanks to their lopsided 105 - 45 win over Singapore on Saturday at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Despite the loss to Cambodia on Thursday, the gold still remains in sight for the Filipinos.
The 60-point bounce back victory over Singapore was a much needed boost for Gilas.
Gilas led the entire game and never looked back.
Marcio Lassiter had a hot hand, scoring 16 points, along with four treys for Gilas Pilipinas. A double-double performance for CJ Perez with 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Justin Brownlee chipped in with 12.
Michael Phillips also scored 12 points and 9 rebounds while Jerom Lastimosa had 12, as well.
The game against Singapore was a good warm-up for Gilas Pilipinas ahead of the semi final round in the tournament.
