Gilas Pilipinas Outlasts Indonesia, Advances To Gold Medal Match With Cambodia
Gilas Pilipinas got their revenge from last year's SEA Games finals, as they dethroned Indonesia in a hard-fought 84 - 76 win to set up a rematch with Cambodia for the gold.
The Philippines had to overcome Indonesia's scoring rampage throughout the game. The scoreboard read 74 - 70, favoring the defending champions with 4:10 left in the fourth quarter. Then Justin Brownlee happened.
Barangay Ginebra's resident import scored 15 of his 34 points in the final period alone and was unstoppable. Brownlee completely shut the door on the Indonesians after making both freethrows with under 50 seconds left in the fourth. He also had 9 boards and dropped 5 dimes for Gilas.
Brandon Ganuelas- Rosser had 13 points and 4 rebounds while Arvin Tolentino added 10 points and 3 rebounds.
