Jio Jalalon Grateful To Peak PH For His First Ever Signature Sneakers
Peak Philippines officially dropped Jio Jalalon's signature sneakers – the Peak SonicBoom – at the opening of the Chinese sportwear brand's newest store in Festival SuperMall, Alabang, on July 21, 2023, Friday.
The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots point guard got to try the Peak SonicBoom sneakers at one of the PBA on Tour games held in Dumaguete. He enjoyed wearing them was in awe of the shoe's design and comfort.
"First time ko nasuot siya sa Dumaguete. So comfortable. Sobrang ganda ng Peak [shoes] talaga, for me," Jalalon disclosed. "Kasi [ang] ganda nung mga gamit nila. Sobrang nice, comfortable sa paa ko. Maganda siya ilaro sa court – makapit. Sobrang ganda niya."
Even during the PBA on Tour, he still tries to stay healthy and in great shape. For him, it's just another day in the office may it be playing a full season in the PBA or being tapped to suit-up for Gilas Pilipinas.
"For me naman, kasi ako, trabaho lang naman yung ano (sic) ko talaga sa team. Siyempre di ko lang pinapapabayaan yung health ko," the point guard from Cagayan de Oro said. "So, maintain lang kung ano yung ginagawa ko sa court. So, yun lang naman ako palagi. Siguro alaga lang talaga sa katawan."
The PBA on Tour serves as preparation to teams gearing up for the upcoming PBA Commissioner's Cup this year. For Jalalon, Magnolia has produced good results from the preseason games. New players are still adjusting to coach Chito Victolero's system and the team's chemistry remains a work in progress. But he believes his team will be ready for the reinforced conference come October.
"Maganda naman yung kalabasan. So yung result nung team namin ngayon, kasi nga maganda yung laro namin palagi," he said. "So, minsan nag a-adjust parin sila sa sistema ni coach Chito [Victolero]. But pagdating ng October, siguro as a team na kami. Yun naman ang pina-practice namin – sa chemistry. So maganda naman ang tinatakbo namin."
Now that he's got his own signature sneakers, Jalalon is always thankful to God for the blessings, especially in his pro basketball career. It's definitely a dream come true for the Magnolia Hotshots point guard, who used to borrow sneakers just play basketball in the past.
The 30 year old is absolutely grateful for the opportunity and partnership with Peak Philippines.
"First of all, nagpapasalamat ako kay God kasi binigyan niya ako ng blessings ng ganito. Then siyempre sa mga boss – si boss Jun, boss Michael, and boss Daryl – na binigyan nila ako ng opportunity na meron akong signature shoes. So siyempre, I'm very thankful," Jalalon said. "Kasi sino ba si Jio Jalalon, dating nanghihiram lang ng sapatos? Tapos ngayon, meron ng sariling signature shoes. So, yun ang nakatatak agad sa isip ko, na bliness (sic) ako ni Lord, siya talaga ang nagbigay sa akin nito."
