Senegal Too Much To Handle For Gilas

Gilas Pilipinas' slow start cost them the game in a loss to Senegal, 72-64, at the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament on Friday in China.

Senegal took full advantage of the Filipinos woes early in the game and never looked back. Gilas tried to keep the game close but it wasn't enough to overcome the African team's scoring onslaught.

Big man June Mar Fajardo led all scorers for Gilas with 14 points. Dwight Ramos and CJ Perez both finished with 11 points.

The nationals will face Senegal once again on Sunday, August 6, then a rematch with Iran on August 7, respectively.
